GRID-UK delegate registration now open
The innovative new energy conference, GRID-UK taking place at Excel, London on 1 & 2 October has opened delegate registration on its website.
GRID-UK, produced in partnership with the Institution of Civil Engineers, is one of the first dedicated energy conferences targeted at commercial interests outside the energy sector and is free to attend.
Rt Hon Greg Hands
Speaking after their most recent meeting GRID-UK Chair and former energy minister, Rt Hon Greg Hands said:
“The multimillion-pound changes taking place in the energy market have important implications for anyone running a business in Britain today.
GRID-UK is providing a concise, no-nonsense overview of what’s happening to enable businesses and customers to take better decisions and control costs, as well as signposting strategic collaboration opportunities to improve competitiveness and boost the UK economy.
The investment in the necessary electricity transmission and distribution networks is massive, so it’s important for customers to know how to get the maximum value from their energy spend in the years ahead”.
Members of the GRID-UK Advisory Board are helping to curate conference content
Already some of the most influential voices in the sector are signing up to take part and the event offers delegates a range of options for engagement.
David Porter, President of the Institution of Civil Engineers said:
“This means we can apply our skills to develop the energy network and the grid in a way that meets the needs of society and also contributes to the net zero journey we’re on as a country”.
Energy insiders also have welcomed the initiative.
The two principal industry membership organisations, Energy UK and the Energy Networks Association have expressed their support.
Adam Berman, Deputy Chief Executive of Energy UK said:
“The size of the prize is huge; we’re talking about doubling the demand of electricity within a generation. We are going through a fundamental rewiring of our economy”.
